The Addictions Technician will provide outpatient individual and group treatment services and home based services for substance abusing clients as well as case management services to coordinate care with other addictions staff, support staff, and medical staff.


  • The addictions technician will develop a strong, appropriate treatment relationship with client and significant others; create a context for beneficial change.
  • The addictions technician will demonstrate an understanding that assessment is an ongoing process and an ability to accurately document the client's strengths and needs.
  • The addictions technician will complete individualized integrative care planning sessions with substance abusing clients.
  • The addictions technician will lead skill building substance abuse groups.
  • Provide home based services and provide skill building to assist client in activities of daily living, increasing support network, and self-sufficiency.
  • The addictions technician will have knowledge of the Organization's endorsed EBPs.
  • The addictions technician will demonstrate sensitivity to those differences and adjust clinical practice as appropriate.



Job Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in addictions or behavioral health related field. For Example: social work, psychology, behavioral health science, counseling, sociology, criminal justice.
  • Training: CPI, CPR, First Aid. Training will be provided.
  • Experience:  Prefer minimum of two (2) years in a mental health/addictions setting.
  • License/Certification:  Addictions Practitioner in Training (APIT) or Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) preferred. Employee must be actively working towards APIT or LAC while in the position if they do not have it.
