Job Description

This position’s primary focus is to assist adult consumers through advocating, teaching, demonstrating, monitoring, and/or role modeling new, appropriate skills in an effort to build self-sufficiency. Mental Health Technicians may be responsible for transporting clients for appointments and other activities that enhance community access.

Technicians may also provide a limited amount of case management services. A caseload will consist of adult population with serious mentally ill diagnoses.

Responsibilities:

  • Inform clinical staff of observations of client’s functioning, behavior, comments.
  • Develop knowledge of treatment planning model and philosophy.
  • Use approved client de-escalation techniques.
  • Maintain certifications in TCI, CPR, First Aid.
  • Develop knowledge and skills in nutritional issues, menu planning, food preparation and food safety.
  • Knowledge of clients’ rights and complaint process.

This is a 3rd shift opportunity with hours from 11:00pm-7:00am. 

Job Requirements

High School diploma with 5 years of mental health experience, 60 college credits, or an Associates degree required.                            

Elementary knowledge of First Aid, CPR certification, psychiatric nursing practices, problem-oriented charting.
