Job Description

 

Physician who works collaboratively with other members of the medical staff in outpatient, inpatient and at contract sites to provide primary care medical services to Bowen Center clients in all counties served by Bowen Center.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The following tasks are the primary duties and responsibilities of an employee in this position. Any single position may not perform all of these tasks and/or may perform related tasks not listed here:

  • Clinical
    • Provide designated number of hours of direct services per month within CSO-approved clinical scope of practice (attached).
    • Maintain CEUs required for continued medical license in Indiana.
    • Maintain DEA license.
    • Maintain credentials with all applicable managed care contracts by completing the necessary paperwork and returning it on a timely basis.
    • See attached Scope of Practice for Primary Care Physician.

 

  • Non-Clinical
    • Attend monthly medical staff meetings.
    • Complete physician peer reviews.
    • Complete documents requested by third party pay sources.
    • Supervise nurse practitioners and APNs as assigned.
    • Other duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements

  • Education:  M.D., D.O.
  • Certificate or Professional License: Active Medical license in Indiana; prescriptive authority in Indiana (DEA license).
  • Experience: Prefer one (1) year in an integrative health setting.
  • Valid driver’s license and active liability insurance.
  • Satisfactory results from criminal background check.
  • Must be a minimum 21 years of age.
  • Positive report from National Practitioner’s Data Bank.
  • Positive report from the Office of the Inspector General.
  • Recommendation from peer for privileges/continued privileges.
