Job Description

The Inpatient Admission Coordinator will be the face of the Unit for admissions and the person primarily responsible for collecting and processing admission information. The position will assess and gather admission information, discuss the information with the provider covering the Unit and depending on the admission decision ensure a smooth and efficient admission process.

  • Clinical/Therapeutic services as necessary
  • Manage all admissions through assessment and discussion with admission provider
  • Provide crisis intervention strategy as necessary
  • Collect and communicate pertinent admission information
  • Coordinate admissions from referring providers as efficiently as possible
  • Assist Bowen Center staff with admissions to the Unit from other counties
  • Assist front office by obtaining pertinent financial and/or insurance information as needed
  • Assist patients with self-pay payment plans and/or presumptive eligibility applications
  • Provide clinical services in the form of ANSA's and follow up services post discharge or denial of admission
  • Ability to accurately apply admission and exclusion criteria to the inpatient admission process objectively
  • Coordinate pre-admission medical clearance as needed

Job Requirements

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Education: Masters Degree in a Behavioral Health related discipline. License Eligible in the state of Indiana. No License required. 
    • Masters in Mental Health Counseling
    • Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy
    • Masters of Clinical Psychology
    • Masters of Social Work
  • Certificate or Professional License: ANSA certification; can be obtained after employment
  • Experience: Prefer two (2) years behavioral health experience
