Job Description

The Technical Support Supervisor is responsible for assessing and guiding day to day functions of the Technical Support group for I.T. including demonstrating leadership, providing guidance, completing employee assessments, and assisting with goal building.  The Technical Support Supervisor coordinates staff members to achieve daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly goals for the Technical Support group.  The Technical Support Supervisor also maintains daily tasks and duties corresponding to the other colleagues within the Technical Support group.

Other Responsibilities: 

  • Configuration and installation for Desktops, laptops, thin clients, mobile devices (cell phone, tablet, etc.), mobile carts, printers, scanners, and any other I.T. supported assets not described
  • Hardware support for Desktops, laptops, thin clients, mobile devices (cell phone, tablet, etc.), mobile carts, printers, scanners, and any other IS supported assets not described.
  • Replace / dispose of equipment according to I.T. procedures for all workstations.  Devices with local hard drives (or storage drives of any kind) must be securely disposed of to ensure the continuation of information security.
  • Completes a rotation of on-call within their primary work group as assigned by I.T. Leadership adhering to support and process standards and policies regarding on-call for the Technical Support group.
  • Works alternative service locations as assigned by I.T. Leadership, based on need and current projects.
  • Leads the performance improvement process for the Technical Support group

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or commensurate experience in information technology support workgroups of 5 or more years.  

Experience / Certificate / License: Five (5) years’ experience in operations/technical support within a healthcare environment preferred. Thorough knowledge and experience in ITIL support structure.
