Job Description

Responsible for providing psychiatric nursing services at the Bowen Center's Inpatient unit (IPU), a 16 bed, acute care psychiatric unit. The selected nurse will work aside a staff psychiatrist within our dynamic medical staff team.

Typical Nurse hours at the IPU include three 12 hour shifts per week.

IPU shifts begin at 7AM (First Shift) and 7PM (Second Shift).

Day shift will vary upon the need on week days and weekends.

A $2000 bonus is offered to all new nurses after one (1) year with Bowen. All second shift (7pm-7am) hours are permitted a $3/hr shift differential (Mon-Fri). All weekend hours are permitted an additional $2/hour shift differential. Continuing education and training opportunities are available. RN License renewal fees are reimbursable. CPI and TB Certification is provided.

Starting pay: $27/hour - $29 depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Review each client chart, insuring that charting is as accurate and comprehensive.
  • Perform assessments, administer medications and treatments, and assist physician as necessary.
  • Participate as a member of the Unit treatment team, taking an active role in the medical and psychological aspects of treatment.

Job Requirements

Education: Associates or Bachelors of Nursing. RN license in the State of Indiana required.
