Job Description

Responsible for providing psychiatric nursing services at the Bowen Center's Inpatient unit (IPU), a 16 bed, acute care psychiatric unit. The selected nurse will work aside a staff psychiatrist within our dynamic medical staff team.

Typical Nurse hours at the IPU include three 12 hour shifts per week. There is an opportunity to pick up an additional 8 hour shift every other week to acquire 80 total pay period hours, though it is not required.

 IPU shifts begin at 7AM (First Shift) and 7PM (Second Shift).

A $2000 bonus is offered to all new nurses after one (1) year with Bowen. All night shift (7pm-7am) hours are permitted a $3/hr premium (Mon-Fri). All weekend hours starting at 7pm Friday until 7am Monday are permitted an additional $2/hr premium.

Starting pay: $27/hour - $29 depending on experience.

 

Continuing education and training opportunities are available.

Responsibilities:

  • Review each client chart, insuring that charting is as accurate and comprehensive as required.
  • Assist the Nursing Services Coordinator/Inpatient Unit Manager in quarterly quality improvement data collection and reports.
  • Make rounds, administer medications and treatments and assist physicians as necessary.
  • Participate as a member of the Unit treatment team, taking an active role in the medical and psychological aspects of treatment.

Job Requirements

Education: Associates or Bachelors of Nursing. RN license in the State of Indiana required.
