Job Description

The Vice President of Risk Management is responsible for oversight of compliance activities, risk management and privacy within the organization. This position also serves as the Privacy Officer and Compliance officer for the organization.

 

  • Knowledge of Joint Commission standards, HRSA requirements, DMHA requirements, CMS conditions of participation, regulations and other patient care related initiatives to improve outcomes, Employment Law.
  • Knowledge of regulatory codes, legal requirements, billing requirements, and healthcare law.
  • Effective presentation skills, articulate, persuasive, and effective communicator both verbally and in writing.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to manage/handle stress while under pressure from many involved parties
  • Ability to interface with a variety of professionals including members of the Board of Directors, medical staff and senior leadership, attorneys, accountants, actuaries, brokers, and the courts.
  • Knowledge of alternate risk financing/insurance programs.
  • Knowledge of clinical and non-clinical loss control and claims administration.
  • Ability to manage information in a confidential manner.

 

 

Job Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree required, Masters Degree preferred
  • Certificate or Professional License: License to practice Law preferred. Certified Professional in Health Care Risk Management (CPHRM) and Registered Health Information Technician Certification (RHIT) preferred or ability to obtain them within 6-12 months in position
  • Training/Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years in Healthcare Compliance and/or Risk Management preferred.
