Bowen Center begins providing services in Huntington County. Our name changes to Five County Mental Health Clinic.
1977
Five County Mental Health Clinic becomes The Otis R. Bowen Center for Human Services, Inc. in honor of Governor Otis R. Bowen, M.D.
1981
Bowen Center receives Joint Commission accreditation, something we proudly maintain to this day.
1989
Kurt Carlson becomes the President/CEO of Bowen Center.
1996
Bowen Center becomes a founding member of the Affiliated Service Providers of Indiana (ASPIN), a Behavioral Health Managed Care Network.
1997
Bowen Center begins providing services in Allen County.
2001
Bowen Center begins providing services in Noble County.
2001
Bowen Center begins providing services in Syracuse, Indiana.
2010
Bowen Center begins providing services in Lagrange County.
2013
Bowen Center begins providing services in Steuben and DeKalb County.
2013
Bowen Center implements an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System. The upgrade provides more comprehensive and efficient tools to manage client care.
2014
Bowen Center relocates its Corporate Office to East Jefferson Street in Warsaw, IN.
2016
Bowen Center opens a new 16 bed state-of-the-art Inpatient Unit in Pierceton, IN.
2017
Bowen Center begins providing community based services to St. Joe, Elkhart, Wells, Adams and Grant counties.
